About Bueno Ministries

Bueno Ministries began in the 1990s with the vision of Mauricio Antonio Menjivar (Tony) and Gabriel Christopher Manzo (Gabe) — longtime friends and former band members of the Latin-rock group Malo. During their touring years, Tony and Gabe would hold Bible studies and prayer together, and soon began writing songs for Jesus.

In 1998, opportunities opened for them to share their music at local churches where Tony was speaking. Inspired by Tony’s mother, Rosa, they named their duo Bueno, and Bueno Ministries was born.

As the ministry grew, Tony and Gabe formed a full band to support their performances at Christian events. They recorded their original songs, releasing their debut album Bueno in 2000, produced in San Francisco with award-winning musicians. The band continued performing until 2005, when Tony was ordained as Senior Pastor at Love International San Francisco.

Tony’s love for worship continued throughout his ministry. In 2016, he began work on his second album, Bueno Dos — a compilation of his life songs for Jesus. Though Pastor Tony went home to the Lord before its release, his heart and message live on through his music and ministry.

Today, Bueno Ministries and Tony’s wife, Amber, carry forward the vision that began with two friends writing songs to honor Jesus — a lasting gift of love, faith, and worship.
